So many of us and our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents before us, have stood on this flying horses platform, reaching for the brass ring and experiencing  joy.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the oldest operating carousel in the country.

I’ve painted a Flying Horse on a piece of the carousel’s original platform. The back is signed and still bears the original “Cottage City, Mass.” marking, along with the maker’s name.
